well sam beam is … well sam beam is sam beam and ben gibbard is ben gibbard. two totally different versions by two equally great artists/songwriters. Great rendition, but ill always love the original by Postal Service, it just holds that special place in my heart. What with the relationship I was in and the album ‘Give Up’ being the soundtrack to it.

just to let you … just to let you know postal service wrote this song. their version was suppose to come out before iron and wine’s version but it got pushed back so this version was released first. both groups are signed to the same label so that’s how iron and wine got a hold of the song. it’s a common misconception but either way both versions are equally great!
